Workshop Description:
Do you want to present writing workshops, but you’re afraid of being that workshop presenter? The one who people think is boring? Who rambles all over the place and doesn’t make sense? Whose presentation is completely forgettable? Or maybe you already present workshops, but you’re not sure if you’re getting through. You tend to hear crickets from your audience. Maybe you’ve seen a few heads nod off?
Never fear – help is near!
In this two-part workshop, you’ll learn tons of practical tips, tricks, and techniques that will elevate your workshop game to new heights. Say goodbye to boring and hello to awesomeness by unleashing your workshop prowess – in person or online! This workshop isn’t going to teach you how to speak in public – it’s about defining your messages, organizing your content and engaging your audience so they want to hear every word.
- Part 1 – It Was a Dark and Stormy Night…
Crafting an impactful, memorable workshop is all about telling a story the audience wants to hear. You’ll learn how to shape your workshop for any subject from the inciting event all the way to the happily ever after! It’s all about taking those skills you already have as an author to ignite your audience’s creativity and inspire their writing mastery.
- Part 2 – Anyone? Anyone? Keeping Your Audience Awake
In your writing, you use hooks, plot twists, and tension to keep your reader turning the pages. That same power of engagement is what creates memorable workshops. We’ll explore how visual aids, gamification, technology and (hello again!) storytelling captivates your audience’s attention, improves understanding of your story, and prevents death by PowerPoint.
Attend one or both of these exciting sessions to create writing workshops with standing room only!
