About the Workshop Do you have an outline or a short story you want to take to
a novel? Learn the four steps of how expansion is achieved through careful
development of selected areas, NOT through simply inserting extraneous images,
sentences and scenes. Or do you have a spewed novel or short story that needs
to be pared down to meet an agent, an editor or a contest’s guidelines? Learn
the four steps of how and where to cut away the extraneous material to create
the cleanest, most evocative copy you can.

Updated Bio

While still working as a critical care nurse, Sally Walker
started her full-time writing career over thirty years ago and quickly won
acclaim for her stage plays and screenplays, internationally published poetry,
non-fiction, and fiction. During her part-time tenure for 18 years as the
company’s Editorial Director, the Fiction Works published three of her novels,
as well as her contributions to two adult literacy anthologies. Those
contributions were pulled out to compile MEETING PEOPLE from her new publisher,
AAE imprint. The collection A WRITER’S YEAR came out from TFW in electronic
format in early 2011 and was revised into the AAE print edition in 2019. Three
screenwriting textbooks were TFW-published in electronic versions in 2012 and
evolved into AAE’s first two expanded textbooks of Sally’s LEARN Series. Four
fiction textbooks in the series were released in 2019, as well as more novels
and novella collections. 2020 is her year of publishing her juvenile work.

Sally currently has 33 screenplays on her resume with
Hollywood representation. Her professional writing affiliations have included
Romance Writers of America, Western Writers of America, and the Society of
Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. Besides presenting writing seminars
on a regular basis for her local community college, Sally is their adjunct
professor of credit classes in screenwriting. For over 25 years she has taught
a variety of courses for many on-line venues including several chapters of RWA,
a Sisters-in-Crime chapter, and the eclectic, international list . More information on this author and her works can be found
